Psalm 33
Shout for joy in the Lord, O you righteous!
Praise befits the upright.
2 Give thanks to the Lord with the lyre;
make melody to him with the harp of ten strings!
3 Sing to him a new song;
play skillfully on the strings, with loud shouts.

If you love to praise the Lord with your voice, we would love to have you.  Psalm 150:6 says, “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord! Praise the Lord!” We are a multi-generational choir made up of people from all walks of life.  We have choir members that are 19 years old and 92 years old.  It is a fun group, and the dynamic is welcoming and friendly.  There is no audition process for being a part of the worship choir.  Our vocal team that assists Pastor Kim in leading worship each week is auditioned, and the expectation is they come from the worship choir if possible. Our normal weekly schedule is:
  • Wednesday nights at 6:30 - 7:30 PM in the Choir room.  Located behind THE GATHERING (Fellowship Hall) area.
  • Childcare is available by reservation only and must be made by Monday.
  • Choir Warmup is normally at 10:30 am in our choir room before we go out to lead in worship.

Our is comprised of Drums, Bass Guitar, Electric Guitar, Acoustic Guitar, Acoustic Piano, and Alternate Keyboard players.  We currently looking for additional players to have a rotation so that everyone gets a chance to play and a break to sit with their families in worship.  This group is audition only. This is not for beginner players but individuals who have confidence on their instruments and play in different styles and genres.  You don’t have to be a “monster” reader.  The charts we offer are lyrics with chords over them, lead sheets, or fully written out charts for your part.

Our Praise Team Vocalists are comprised primarily from our Worship Choir.  When they are not leading with our Worship Pastor they are participating in Choir.  There is an interview process with our Worship Pastor that includes hearing them sing but also determining what vocal part would be best for their voice.  Not everyone on the Praise Team is a soloist.  Not everyone on our Praise reads music per se but has a keen ear to recognize their individual part and be able to stay on that part to produce harmonies when the music calls for that.

We practice on Wednesday evenings at 5:30-6:30 PM in the Worship Center.

Technology in worship has been on the rise in the last 10 years and it doesn’t seem to be slowing down.  Therefore, we are looking for people with the passion to stay up with audio, video, and lighting technologies.  We have a very good team that does a great job, but we need more people as the ministry is expanding.  If you are interested and willing to be trained in AVL please fill out our interest form online or email knoblitt@sandiabaptist.org. The minimum age is high school to participate. We would love to hear from you and get you serving in this most important area of the Worship Arts Ministry.

We'd love to hear from you. Fill out the form below to get started.
