a heart for missions

Sandia Baptist Church actively promotes missions on a local, state, national and world basis. Our heart and prayer is that all these mission opportunities are just the beginning of many ministries that become a groundswell of God's people being actively involved in local missions here in Albuquerque and around the world. We support mission work in New Mexico, North America, and around the world through the Global Missions Offering. The GMO is above ones regular tithe.

Offerings given to the GMO are forwarded monthly to the mission agencies in the following way:

  • 60 % to Lottie Moon, IMB
  • 30% to Annie Armstrong, NAMB
  • 8 % to Missions NM, BCNM
  • 2% to NM Baptist Children's Home
  • american missions team

Our American team is not about words, but is about delivering the gospel's message of hope with action and with love, just as Jesus did. Our body of believers participate in projects that reach out to our community. Our developing relationship with a neighborhood school, Grant Middle School, is one of the avenues for our efforts which include school supply drives, dealing with childhood hunger with a weekend food program, tutoring, and general support ministry of the school staff and school functions. We also partner with CareNet Pregnancy Center of NM, the Rock at NoonDay, and Native American missions at Ojo Encino and Jemez Valley. This team meets once a month to coordinate all our efforts.

  • world Missions team

Our World Missions team is tasked with working with our pastors to get our church members reaching others around the world with the message of new life in Jesus. Over the years, we have sent teams to Ukraine, Burkina Faso, Kenya, Canada, Cambodia, and Japan. If you are interested in world missions, we are always looking for prayer partners and team members to meet monthly.

We have a mission trip to Japan scheduled for 2021.
